tip#1. #sun.protection.factor#aveda.tinted.moisturizer

SPF!! I can not stress this enough!  Every day, it is a must have! There is no point in using all of those expensive products if you're not wearing sunscreen to protect your skin.  First cleanse, tone, eye cream, serums, moisturizers and then sunscreen.

PS: If you're using some sort of tinted moisturizer or foundation with spf in it, that will help but not fully protect you.  So make sure to wear something additional.

If you're looking for lighter coverage I recommend Aveda inner light mineral tinted moisture broad spectrum spf 15, FOR MORE COVERAGE ADD POWDER ON TOP.

I also highly recommend Obaji nuderm healthy skin protection spf 35.

Helpful hint: When you're looking for sunscreens, look for the ingredients such as titanium dioxide, not anything with oxybenzone...Or anything that ends in 'zone' for that matter :)  These chemicals can be harmful to you in the long run.

http://breakingnews.ewg.org/2012sunscreen/ is a great website to search for 'safe' sunscreens for you and your family.  It has a number scale that helps you determine the good from the bad.  I love this website in the summer time especially! Select a brand, or just select see all sunscreens.  Either way it is pretty interesting just to look at.

tip#2. #facial.cleansing.brush#better.than.a.clarisonic

Ever wanted a clarisonic, but don't feel like dropping the $200+ on one? I just purchased this Pretika facial cleansing brush a few weeks ago.  I love it just as much, if not more! I found mine at TJ Maxx for a super good deal, so you could look for one there if you're interested.  But I know that store is kind of hit and miss with those sort of things.

There are many benefits to using one of these;
-Gently removes your skins outer layer of dry flaky skin cells.
-Helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and blemishes.

You may use this every day.  I like to use it with my Aveda purifying creme cleanser once a day, and with my Aveda tourmaline charged radiant skin refiner about once or twice a week.  It is safe for use in the shower, which is my favorite part.  Every once in a while you will also need to buy replacement brushes as well. See below for recommendations on cleansers and other products :)

You can also find this on:

tip#3. #best.exfoliator.ever#radiant.skin.refiner

Aveda tourmaline charged radiant skin refiner.  One of the products I was talking about right above.  This is very exfoliating and can get pretty aggressive if you scrub too much.  This is hands down my favorite exfoliator!  We used to use it for our BSR (botanical skin resurfacing) treatments at the institute, similar to a microdermabrasion.  They just brought it out to the public a little over a year ago. It is made up of bamboo powder and chalk (calcium carbonate) as the abrasive agents.

All I can say is that a little bit goes a long ways, I have had this over a year and barely put a dent in it. Good thing the shelf life is 24 months :) You can find it here.  http://www.aveda.com/product/7570/19247/Skin-Care/toneexfoliate/Tourmaline-Charged-Radiant-Skin-Refiner/index.tmpl
or your local Aveda lifestyle salon or experience center.

tip#4. #aveda.cleanser#normal.to.dry.skin#botanical.kinetics

This is the Aveda purifying creme cleanser, I personally use it to remove my make up in the shower and as an all over facial cleanser, up to two times a day.  It's great for my dry skin and I always go back to it.  Anyone can use this, and I really mean anyone!

Again, you can find it at your local Aveda lifestyle salon or experience center, here is the link as well.

tip#5. #aveda.cleanser#normal.to.oily.skin#botanical.kinetics

This is the Aveda purifying gel cleanser.  A little more aggressive than the creme cleanser listed above, but you can still use to remove make up and impurities.  It is enriched with chamomile, lavender and vitamin E.

Here is the direct link for it on Aveda's website.  http://www.aveda.com/product/5219/16929/Collections/Botanical-Kinetics/Botanical-Kinetics-Purifying-Gel-Cleanser/index.tmpl

tip#6. #easiest.thing.ever#quick.way.to.cleanse#for.lazy.people.like.me

So I'm not sure if any of you have used these, but they're pretty much the best invention EVER.

These are facial cleansing wipes by blum naturals.  I also like these...

Say yes to cucumber facial towelettes.  Both of these are amazing, I usually get whichever is cheaper or most convenient.  The blum I normally find at TJ Maxx or Marshalls and the say yes to cucumbers at target or hyvee.  Say yes to also has different ones for different skin types just like blum.  With these you can remove all make up, sweat, dirt and other impurities without going through the hassel of turning the sink on and pumping the cleanser out.  I usually use these when I am in a hurry.  Or maybe I had on a lot of mascara and want to take some of it off before I get in the shower and use my cleanser, I'll use them to take it off first so I don't look like a goth person when I get out, lol. :) Here are the links.
